About Us
Almak Plant Hire Pty Ltd (APH) is a family owned company that has been supplying earthmoving equipment and civil engineering contracting services to the Queensland construction industry since 1972.
The company was founded by Adrian Kruger, who remained in the business until his retirement in 2003. Adrian handed over management of the company to his son Adam, in 2000.
APH has been involved in a number of key projects in South East and Central Queensland, some of which are:
- Preload works at the Port of Brisbane, including working in and with the
treacherous "white sand" of the area - Excavation for the Shafston Avenue access and ventilation shaft for the
Clem 7 Tunnel - Bulk excavation of the northern portal of the Clem 7 Tunnel, including
underground tunnelling - Bulk excavation of the southern portal of the Clem 7 Tunnel, including
working under existing bridge decks - Detailed excavation works for the Bowen Hills bus way
- Upgrading of Ipswich Road for the Clem 7 Tunnel, including working under
existing bridge decks - Construction of the precast yard foundations and concreting of the precast
elements for the Clem 7 Tunnel lining - Backfill of the Gibbon Street access shaft, used for the removal of the
Tunnel Boring Machines from the Clem 7 Tunnel - Earthworks, drainage and car park for the new Mother Teresa school
in Ormeau - Bulk earthworks for an industrial subdivision in South Mackay,
Central Queensland - Milton Road, Brisbane flood clean up and drain cleaning
- Construction of a six lot subdivision in Thagoona, Ipswich
- Bulk earthworks (cut to fill) for the upgrade of the Robina Interchange
on the Pacific Motorway
APH provides well maintained, quality equipment with experienced, skilled and responsible operators.
The provision of consistently good service during 39 years spent in the Queensland civil engineering contracting industry has enabled APH to build strong relationships
with Principal Contractors, Subcontractors and Suppliers.
Innovative and proactive approaches to anticipating and resolving problems on site allows Principal Contractors the freedom to devote a minimum amount of time to supervising the work being undertaken by Almak Plant Hire.
